Roma!

Buongiorno Nancy and Fred!
Ciao, from Grazia and Jeanne
Grazia Spinosa visited Charlottesville in the fall of 2010, staying with my neighbors, Fred and Nancy; I was invited for dinner to hear her stories of Rome and what it was like to cover a US Congressman’s campaign in the states.
She and I connected this month when I was in Rome, and she treated me to a gorgeous (and delectable!) lunch at the mozzarella bar, Obekah, in Piazza Navona. As well as giving me a walking tour of some of her favorite spots in the central Roman neighborhood where she lives. Thank you, Grazia!
The next day, I caught up with Lorenzo Caricchio, the cousin of the mother of the woman who my brother Eric married. An extended family member, so to speak. He picked me up at the train station near San Pietro and asked me “AC or cabriolet?” Of course I picked cabriolet. What a wonderful way to ride around Rome!
Later, we were joined by his friend Francesca for a delicious Italian open-air pizza dinner. Thank you, Lorenzo!
(And thank you, Lucy, for capturing this picture.)

I love Roma. Hope you’re having fun.
Tell the Toccafondis hello for me. Oh, I am so, so pleased that you’re in ROMA!
Caricchio
I am so glad you were able to meet my cugino! I wish I could have been there too.
But wait, you didn’t tell me how Grazia is doing! What is she up to now? Sounds like a lot of fun in Italy, that’s for sure.
Nancy
